The Unforgiving Frost - Frostlite Dungeon, is a roguelite game where you play with Jack Winter a young boy who is trying to find the cause of the overhelming cold that covers his village, and as one of the only people capable to fight, he tries to do his best to save his village
You will encounter lots of challenges in your way, one of them being your life, which is bodyheat in this game, or as i prefer to call it "warm". you can recover warm whenever you want, but there's also the temperature, which decreases your warm recover, and the lower it gets, your warm regen can even become negative forcing you to heal during battle and focus on not getting hit.
The game is still in development and it currently has:
3 bosses
1 region
20 items
5 weapons
The game is currently in development, and it might feel a bit rushed at the moment, and it kind of is. I encountered numerous personal challenges and problems during development, and my computer didn't make it any easier with frequent crashes, leading me to rebuild the game from scratch three times. I did my best to finalize this initial version so I could transition to another project and take a much-needed break for now, but i do love this game, so i'll return to it soon.
I think after two projects or about 3-4 months i'll return to work in this game. maybe sooner, if people support me to continue working on it.(any help, even a dolar, is appreciated)
Inspirations:
My Mom: i asked her to choose a theme for a new game, and she answered "ice"
My BF: motivated me to keep working on the game
Bad Ice-Cream: at the beginning i remembered this game, and it had inspired me in this project.
Enter the Gungeon: it inspired a bit of the gameplay, and mostly the bosses screens
Next Update:
i'll add:
3 or 6 bosses
1 or 2 regions
at least more 5 weapons
and at least 5 items (without considering boss loot as every boss will have their items)
(i forgot how much i decided to put on the next update)
Planned(things i already planned for the game):
about 12 Regions
about 30 bosses
more than a 100 items
more than 20 weapons
some secrets(i love to put secrets on my games)
Things to Fix or to Change:
FIX -some items have errors in their descriptions, and that happened in english and portuguese
FIX -in english time in deathscreen is called "tempo" which is portuguese.
FIX -Yeti need some rework, specially when he jumps over a gap getting bugged visualy or even jumping repeatedly
FIX - The totems are the most broken boss yet, they had lots of problems and bugs during their development and i think the owl and the turtle have like a 1 in 7 chance to just get out of the arena, i tried to fix, but not sure if it worked.
FIX- The Turtle Totem, sometimes(i think most of the times) it doesn't show that it is about to attack, or doesn't rotate
FIX maybe?- if you enter on the boat while rolling, you will just keep rolling, it's funny to see, and doesn't affect gameplay, so maybe i'll keep it.
CHANGE- i'm considering in to changing Crab Totem's Sideways laser into "Poiting laser" where it points towards you first.
CHANGE- maybe make totems a bit more challenging. as owl doesn't do much. but i'm not sure, as the first Region is intended to be easy to make people more confident.
CHANGE- considering on adding a new attack to each boss, to make them more challenging.
and some other fixes that I probably don't remember right now.
